Clear Selected Tables
Previous Topic  Next Topic

Clear Selected Tables is a very powerful command that deletes all jobs ( including template jobs), operations, and jobs status information from a dataset.  It does not affect the resources or other tables within DMS.  Its purpose is to clicking prepare a dataset for he import of jobs and operations using Import Orders.  You only need to use this command if you are completely refreshing the jobs and operations in your dataset.  You can only clear select tables from the dataset you are logged in on; you cannot clear a dataset that you are not logged in on.

CAUTION!  Once you have selected and executed Clear Selected Tables the job, operation, and job status data cannot be recovered by DMS.  The only way to recover this data is to use an external backup and restore the SQL database.

To execute this command, select File | Datasets | Clear Selected Tables from the general menu.  Confirm the deletion of jobs, operations and job status by pressing OK.

For example, to delete the dataset "Test Facility A-B-C" login to the dataset and select Clear Selected Tables.

DMS then confirms that you want to clear the selected tables for the dataset "Test Facility A-B-C":

DMS confirms that the new tables have been created.  Press OK to continue.
