The Dependent On command is used with the Any Order command to specify that some operations are dependent on other operations. In certain instances in manufacturing there may be an Any Order grouping of operations where some operations must occur after other operations. For example, let's say we have 4 operations 10, 20, 30 and 40, that may occur in any order as long as operation 20 is done after operation 10. We would then say that operations 10, 20, 30 and 40 can be performed in any order with the added relationship that 20 is dependent on 10. The Dependent On command would then be used to tell the scheduler that operation 20 is dependent on operation 10.
The example below shows the Any Order command for operations 10 through to 40. Operation 20 is dependent on operation 10. Therefore, the operations can occur in any order as long as operation 20 follows operation 10:
