ETC Hours Display
Previous Topic  Next Topic

The ETC Hours Display (Estimate to Complete) shows the work assign to resources, pools, or departments from the current schedule start date out 12 months.  The ETC Hours Display is independent of the selections made in Manufacturing Orders Job Grid

Typically, Job Selections are made to get a subset of work (projects) using the Job Identification and/or the Part Number.  The entered job identification and/or part number to search for are displayed above the grid after the Search button is pressed.

When the ETC Hours Display is selected, an empty grid appears as in the example below.  The first month in the column is the month of the last schedule start date.  In the example below, the schedule was run with a schedule start in the month of April:

Once the job selections have been made, click on the Search button to perform the search.  It may take several minutes for the SQL search to be performed and the mouse cursor is changed to let you know the SQL search is taking place.  During the SQL search the system may appear to be not responding as DMS needs to wait for the search to be completed.  Once the search has been completed, the information is displayed as in the example below:

In the above example, a job identification of "Western CO" was entered for the search.  Note that the Job Selection icon displays a green title showing that a selection has been made, the Job Identification selection is displayed above the grid, and the Part Number displays "<All>" as a search for specific part numbers was not entered.

The second to last column on the right displays displays the resource totals past 1 year ("> 1 year"),  the last column on the right displays the total hours ("Total Hrs") for the resource (both the first 12 months and beyond to the end of the schedule horizon), and at the bottom the total hours per month and total heads per month are also displayed.  The total heads per month is not calculated for the hours past the first year and the total hours columns.  The Resource Description displays the first 40 characters of the description.

The total heads per month is calculated by:

Total Hrs Per Month / Total Man Hours Per Month

where the Total Man Hours Per Month is the number of week days x 8 hours. The Total Man Hours Per Month does not include Saturdays or Sundays.

Along with the Job Selections and Search, the following commands are available:

  1. Clear Selections button will clear the search selections.
  2. View | Reset Grid Col Widths will reset the column widths to the default.  You can change the column widths manually by placing the mouse cursor over the column line separator on the column titles of the grid and dragging the column to a new width.  The selections you make to column widths are saved when you exit.
  3. Group | Resource, Group | Pools, and Group | Departments enable you to display the ETC hours by resources (default), pools or departments.  Once the group selection has been made, click on the Search button to performs the search.
  4. Print | Print Grid prints the current ETC hours grid display.
  5. Export | Grid Contents exports the grid contents (see Export Grid Contents for options and export format types).

If the Search button is pressed without making any jobs selections, DMS will warn the users with the following message:

You may continue with the search by selecting Yes or click No to abort the search.  The above message will only appear once per session so subsequent searches without search criteria will not display this message.
