Manufacturing Orders Searching and Filtering
Previous Topic  Next Topic

Searching and filtering enables you to look for certain jobs and work with a subset of jobs.  When you first enter into Manufacturing Orders both History and Template jobs are not included in the search.  The reasons for this are to increase the speed of response (the more jobs the longer the process) and you are typically looking at current schedule jobs and jobs on order.

If you select a large number of jobs, such as all historical jobs, it may take several seconds for DMS to fetch the jobs and display the data.  For example, searching and displaying 50,000 jobs may take 20 to 30 seconds.  You may prefer to limit large sections of job data by specifying a date range or other search criteria that would reduce the data retrieval size.

A search automatically takes place when you first enter into Manufacturing Jobs.  After entering search criteria, a search does not take place until you click on the Search button.  Once you have clicked on the Search button, the search takes place and the resulting data is displayed in the job grid.

To enter search criteria click on one of the following buttons:

  1. To search on job header information such as part numbers, job identifications, jobs states, etc., click on the Job Selections button.
  2. To search on job dates or search for job dates using comparisons, click on Date Selections.
  3. To search on user fields, click on User Field Selections.
  4. To search on Resources, click on Resource Selections.
  5. To search on assembly job information, click on Assembly Selections.
  6. To manually select or remove jobs from the display, Select Multiple Rows is used.

You can save your current search criteria by clicking on the Save Search button.

You can load previously saved searches by clicking on the Load Search button.

To clear your current search criteria, click on the Clear Selections button.  DMS will confirm the clearing of selections by displaying the following confirmation window:

Click OK to clear the search selections or click Cancel to cancel the clear.  Note that the current job information in the gird does not change after you have cleared the search criteria until you click on the Search button to perform a new search.
