User Fields

The purpose of the user fields is to give you the option of entering and tracking customized information for each job. There are two types of user fields; job user fields and operation user fields.  When you copy a job the copy also copies any job and operation user fields.   You can have any number of job and operation user fields.


User fields are one of the following types, where text is one of 5 different types:

  1. Text (up to 40 alphanumeric characters):
    1. Free format.  Any value can be entered to the user field
    2. Text all upper case.  Text entered is automatically converted to upper case.
    3. Currency.  Value entered must be in a currency format with up to two digits after the decimal point (i.e. 127.98, 0.52, etc.).  You can choose to allow or disallow negative numbers.
    4. Integer (whole numbers).  Only while numbers can be entered.  You can choose to allow or disallow negative numbers.
    5. Fraction. Numbers with a decimal point can be entered.  You can choose to allow or disallow negative numbers.
  2. Date, time, or date and time fields.
  3. Memo field.  A Memo field is used to represent lengthy text or combinations of text and numbers.
  4. Lookup field.  You can setup a prompt with predefined values where one of the predefined values must be selected.
  5. Button to execute another application.
