Resource Types

Resource Types are used by resources and resource pools to define a category of what the resource or the resource pool is.  There are eight resource types which are:


  1. Resource
  2. Labor
  3. Outsource
  4. Prepare
  5. Break
  6. Inventory
  7.        Wait.  Only one resource can be identified as a Wait time resource.  When a new dataset is created, the wait resource name is "DMS Wait".  You can change the resource name to any valid name you wish.
  8.        Move.  Only one resource can be identified as a Move time resource.  When a new dataset is created, the move resource name is "DMS Move".  You can change the resource name to any valid name you wish.


You cannot delete a resource type, but you can change the name and assign a color and bold text to a resource type for ease of identification purposes.


To access Resource Types, select Table | Resource Types.  The following screen will appear listing the resource types:



The following tabs and commands are available:

  1. Edit To edit an existing resource type, highlight the resource type in the grid and select File | Edit or double click on the Resource Type in the grid.



The following explains the prompts on the resource type window:


  1. User Name  A unique resource type user name may be entered if you want to use it instead of the default System Name.
  2. Text Color  Select the text color for the job state.  There are 20 valid colors to choose from.
  3. Bold Text  If you want the job state to use bold text, select the check box.  Otherwise do not select the check box.


Click the Save & Exit button to save the entries or click Cancel & Exit to cancel the entries.
