The Job Identification is an optional 40 character alpha numeric field that is typically used to help identify a job to users. Typically it contains information that is not defined in either the order number of the part number. Duplicate job identifications are allowed. The "Job Identification" term can be changed to whatever term you would like to use. Job identifications can have a masked input. You can search and sort on the job identification and the job identification can appear on graphs, displays, and reports. You can hide the job identification so it does not appear in DMS if you do not want to use this field. The Job Identification term, option to hide, and optional mask is entered in Terms and Settings.
The Job Identification is also used when defining and applying security certificates. If an operation requires a resource with a security certificate, the scheduler will look for only those resources that have a matching security certificate. To match an operation requiring a security certificate with a resource, the job identification is used.
