The status reason is an optional entry used when using Job Status Updating.  It can be used to flag an entry with a comment or reason as to what occurred.  For example, suppose an operation took much longer than originally planned.  The user then can select from a user defined list of Status reasons as to why the operation took longer.  Status reasons for the delay may be:

1. Incorrect planning
2. Material delayed
3. Broken fixture
4. Machine breakdown

DMS then enables you to setup a report sorted by status reasons to see the reasons why operations are taking longer than planned.
