A job or an Assembly can be copied from the Job tab or the Assembly tab. A copy replace can also be selected to copy a job/Assembly and replace part of the Order Number that is being copied.
When Copy Job has been selected to copy a job that is not part of an assembly, the following window appears:
The current job's Order Number is displayed on the window's title bar.
The following prompts are entered on the Copy tab:
1.New Order Number Enter the new Order Number for the job.
2.New job state The job state of the job being copied is displayed. Either enter a new job state or press enter to leave the job state as is.
3.New Part Number The part number of the job being copied is displayed. Either enter a new part number or press enter to leave the part number as is.
4.New Project (Job Identification) The job identification of the job being copied is displayed. Either enter a new job identification or press enter to leave the job identification as is.
5.Order Quantity The order quantity of the job being copied is displayed. Either enter a new order quantity or press enter to leave the order quantity as is.
6.Include actuals If you want to copy the actual times reported and current status of each of the job's operations, select this checkbox. Otherwise, leave this checkbox unselected.
7.Planner The planner of the job being copied is displayed. Either enter a new planner or press enter to leave the planner as is.
8.Number of copies Enter the number of copies you want to make of the job. If more than one copy of the job is being made, DMS will append a three digit suffix to the end of the Order Number starting with -001, -002, etc.
9.Press OK to copy the job or press Cancel to ignore the copy and close the Copy window. If OK is pressed, DMS will copy the job and then close the Copy window.
To copy a job and replace part of the Order Number with new text, select the Copy with Replace tab:
The following prompts are entered on the Copy with Replace tab:
1.Text to Replace The current order number is displayed in the top prompt as well as in the Text to Replace prompt. Enter the text of the current Order Number that you want to replace.
2.Replace with Enter the new text you want to use to replace the Text to Replace.
3.New job state The job state of the job being copied is displayed. Either enter a new job state or press enter to leave the job state as is.
4.New Part Number The part number of the job being copied is displayed. Either enter a new part number or press enter to leave the part number as is.
5.New Project (Job Identification) The job identification of the job being copied is displayed. Either enter a new job identification or press enter to leave the job identification as is.
6.Order Quantity The order quantity of the job being copied is displayed. Either enter a new order quantity or press enter to leave the order quantity as is.

1.New Order Number Enter the new Order Number for the final assembly job.
2.Copy assembly structure Select this checkbox if you want to copy the entire assembly structure. If just the one job selected is to be copied, do not select this checkbox.
3.New job state The job state of the assembly job being copied is displayed. Either enter a new job state or press enter to leave the job state as is. Whatever job state is selected, all components of the new assembly will have the same job state.
4.New Assembly If Copy assembly structure was selected, the new assembly name must be entered.
5.New Part Number If Copy assembly structure was selected, the part number is blank as each component job in the assembly may have its own part number. Leave the part number blank if you want each component job within the copied assembly to retain its part number or enter a new part number that will be assigned to ALL component jobs in the new assembly.
6.New Project (Job Identification) The job identification of the job being copied is displayed. If you want each component job within the copied assembly to retain its current job identification, enter a space or leave the text blank for the job identification prompt. If you enter a new job identification, it will be assigned to ALL component jobs in the new assembly.
7.Order Quantity The order quantity of the job being copied is displayed. If Copy assembly structure was selected, you cannot change the order quantity as the correct quantity for each component job must be copied as is.
8.Include actuals If you want to copy the actual times reported and current status of each of the job's operations, select this checkbox. Otherwise, leave this checkbox unselected.
9.Planner The planner of the job being copied is displayed. Either enter a new planner or press enter to leave the planner as is.
10.Number of copies If Copy assembly structure was selected, you cannot make more than one copy of the assembly at a time and thus the number of copies must be 1 and cannot be changed.
11.Press OK to copy the job/Assembly or press Cancel to ignore the copy and close the Copy window. If OK is pressed, DMS will copy the job and then close the Copy window. If Copy assembly structure was selected, the entire assembly structure is copied and then the Copy window closes.
To copy an Assembly and replace part of the Order Number of each component with new text, select the Copy with Replace tab:

1.Copy assembly structure Select this checkbox if you want to copy the entire assembly structure. If just the one job selected is to be copied, do not select this checkbox.
