Date Selections enables you to search for jobs whose dates are in a given date range, or to compare job dates and search for jobs based on the date comparison. To access date selections, select Selection | Date Selections. Note that if you have made selections the button will be toggled to the On position.
After selecting the Date Selections, the following window will appear:
If you have previously made selections from this window and you have not cleared the selections using the Clear Selections button in Manufacturing Orders or the Clear on in the window above, then the previous selections will be displayed in the window.
The following entries can be made:
1.First Date Field to Compare Enter the job date you want to compare or use the drop down menu to select the date.
2.Type of Date Comparison The date comparison is either Range to select dates in a given date range, or it is a mathematical comparison to compare the first date with another date. Mathematical comparisons are:
1.= to compare if the first date field is equal to the second date field.
2.> to compare if the first date field is greater than the second date field.
3.>= to compare if the first date field is greater than or equal to the second date field.
4.< to compare if the first date field is less than the second date field.
5.<= to compare if the first date field is less than or equal to the second date field.
6.<> to compare if the first date field is not equal to the second date field.
3.Second Date Field to Compare If a mathematical comparison was entered in the previous prompt, DMS prompts you for the second date to compare with the first date. Enter the job date you want to compare or use the drop down menu to select the date.
4.Difference between dates is If a mathematical comparison was entered to the Type of Date Comparison prompt, DMS prompts you to optionally enter a difference in days for the comparison. For example, if you wanted to select all jobs whose schedule end date is within 4 days of the baseline end date, you would enter 4 to this prompt.
5.Range for First Date If you select a range as the Type of Date Comparison then DMS asks you to enter a range of dates from a given date to a given date.
6.Logical operation type Two or more date fields can be joined using the logical operators AND and OR. The default logical operator is AND. Please note that parenthesis around the logical statements is not available and thus the precedence of logical operators is from left to right. If you use both AND and OR operators in the same search, different results may occur than what you expect. Logical operators combine relations according to the following rules:
7.AND Both date selections must be true for the expression to be true.
8.OR If either date selections is true, the expression is true.
9.To add the entered date selection, click on the Add Search button and the date selection will be added to the list box at the lower part of the screen. To remove a date selection, highlight the date selection in the list box you want to remove and click the Remove Line button or double click on the date selection to be removed. When you remove a selection DMS will confirm the remove. Click OK to verify the delete line or click Cancel.
In order for the search to be applied, you must click on the Search button.
If you click on the Clear button, all date selections will be cleared.
