Infinite Schedule

The infinite schedule is an analysis tool.  It is based on an assumption that there is infinite or unlimited Resource capacity and, therefore, it cannot be a feasible schedule.  Its value is to use it for capacity planning and location of bottlenecks since the resulting reports and displays show the required Resource loads needed to accomplish certain production objectives.  Finite schedules and infinite schedules can be compared for forecasting and capacity planning purposes.  For example, an infinite schedule represents customer demand, while a finite schedule represents output.  The two schedules show a "demand versus supply" type of comparison.

Using the schedule method you can specify that a job is to be loaded finitely (the default) or infinitely.  At the operation level, you can change from finite to infinite or vice versa by specify Finite or Infinite in the Command column of the Operations tab
