The Link by Jobs Operations enables you to:
1.Link selected operations within jobs together. The jobs’ routings may be different.
2.Link operations with a Book Time command together. The jobs’ Book Time range of operations may be different.
Two or more jobs can be added to a Linked Group. The following icon executes the Link by Jobs Operations:
Once the command is selected, the following window appears:
To add or edit an existing Link Group:
1.Use the Select Parent button to select a new parent job or to access a current linked job. If the selected job is part of a Linked Group, both the Parent job and all Children jobs are added to the window.
2.Use the Select Link Job to add a new job to link to the Parent. The Parent job appears on the left side of the window and the Children jobs appear on the right side with one job per tab. As each new job is added via the Select Link Job, the job is added to a new tab on the right side of the window.
1.Use drag and drop to link an operation or remove an operation, or use the buttons between the two grids to add or remove operations.
2.A linked operation must have the same Resource or the same Pool.
3.Linked operations are shown in the Parent job grid on the left side of the window, indented with an aqua colored background.
4.A single left mouse click on a linked operation (aqua background) will display and highlight the corresponding job/operation on the right side of the window.
5.Double clicking on a linked operation will ask if you want to remove the link.
3.The Parent job grid has an extra column called Add RT (add runtime). Add RT appears as a check box for operations that are to be linked with the parent operation. If selected, the child operation’s runtime is added to the parent operation’s runtime during the scheduling process.
An example of the link windows with a job already setup that links with two other jobs is shown below. In the example, MO-00064 is the parent and MO-00064A-001 and MO-00064A-002 are linked to it. MO-00064A-001 operation 10 and MO-00064A-002 operation 30 are all linked to MO-00064 operation 30. MO-00064 and MO-00064A-001 are linked with a Book Time command. Note that the Add RT is not selected for the linked operation and thus the runtime of the children’s operations’ are not added to the Parent operation during the scheduling process:

2.All the jobs in the group are scheduled when the Parent job is scheduled.
3.The Parent job’s priority and due date set the overall priority for the Linked Group.
4.If the Parent job is deleted, the links between all the jobs are also deleted. The Children jobs are not deleted and are treated as regular jobs.
5.Linked operations must have the same Resource or the same Pool.
6.Whatever Resource is selected from the Pool during the schedule process is applied to all linked operations.
7.A job can only be the member of one Linked Group.
8.Currently, all Linked Groups are scheduled forward loaded only.
9.A Parent job and Children jobs can be part of an Assembly. The Assembly’s priority and due date set the priority for the Parent job. The user needs to ensure that the Assembly with the Parent job has an overall higher priority and due date than Assemblies that have Children jobs.
10.If a linked operation is set to in process, then all other corresponding linked operations are set to in process during the schedule run.

3.The Book Time range of operations for the Parent job and each Child job do not need to match. For example, the Parent job may have an operation range from 25 to 50 while a Child job my have a range from 10 to 20, etc.
4.If a Book Time is set in process, then all operations in all the Linked Group of jobs that fall within the Book Time ranges will be scheduled during the scheduled loading of started operations (if the option to load started operations first is selected).
