Noncontiguous

Non contiguous refers to blocks of time that can be used to schedule an operation where these blocks of time are not contiguous (adjacent).  That is, the time available has interruptions.

A resource can be noncontiguous by selecting the noncontiguous setting in the Resource Profiles tab.

Operations can be noncontiguous by selecting the noncontiguous setting on the operations options panel on the Operations tab

Noncontiguous resources and operations required a minimum runtime called the Non contiguous Operation Runtime.

Note that the minimum non contiguous runtime must be available on each of the resources shifts or the operation cannot load.  For example, if a resource has one shift per day and the non contiguous minimum time is 3 hours, the resource must have at least 3 hours per day for the length of the operation’s time in order for it to be scheduled on consecutive working days.  If time is not available on a given day, the scheduler looks for a better fit on consecutive working days.

If you want the non contiguous operation to use any time available and the operation does not need to be loaded on consecutive working days, use the option to Skip shifts if unavailable.
