The job tree in Manufacturing Order (job details) can be modified to suit your own purposes.  These settings are saved for each each workstation.

To access the Job Tree, select View | Job Tree Options  from the Manufacturing Order (job details) screen.  The following window appears:

The three items in the list box are Order Number, Job Identification, and Part Number.  The order of these items in the list box are the order in which they will be displayed horizontally in the job tree.  If you do not use a certain field, move it to the end of the list and you can hide the field by using the mouse and dragging the width of the tree to a narrower setting hiding the field(s) you do not use.  To change the order of the fields, simply drag and drop the fields into the order you want.  The settings apply to all job trees in Manufacturing Order (the Job Tree, Template Tree and Assembly Tree).

The check boxes are as follows:

  1. Display template job tree  Check this item if you want to display the template tree under the job tree,  Do not check this item if you want to hide the template tree.
  2. Expand job tree on entry  If you use Assembly jobs and would like the Job Tree to automatically expand to display all assembly structures, make sure that this check box is selected.  To not automatically expand all assembly structure, do not check this item.
  3. Show components in root   If you use Assembly jobs and would like the Job Tree to show the component jobs in the root of the tree, make sure that this check box is selected.  If you do not want to see the component jobs in the root and see them in the assembly structure only, do not check this item.
  4. Display job link icon  If you use BOM Links for jobs and would like to see the BOM job lick icon displayed in the tree, make sure that this box is checked.  If you do not use BOM links or do not want to display the icon in the tree, do not select this item.  If Display Job Link Icon is checked and BOM Link tab is shown, the loading of the job tree takes more time as the BOM link has to be checked for each job.  If “Display Job Link Icon” is unchecked or BOM Link is hidden, the job tree load is faster.
  5. On external edit hide trees  You can optionally hide the Job and Template trees in Manufacturing Order Job Detail when you select to edit a job or operation from displays and graphs.  Hiding the job trees speeds up the display of Manufacturing Order as the tree information does not need to be read from the database.  Select this option to hide the job trees when editing from graphs and displays.  Uncheck this option of you always want to see the job trees during editing.  Note that selecting New or Edit from Mfg Orders Job Grid will always display the job trees regardless of the setting of this option.
  6. Always hide trees  This user option hides the job tree and uses drop down menus to select jobs.  If the “Always hide trees” is selected, the trees will not be displayed on Manufacturing Order (job detail).  Hiding the job tree will speed up the time it takes to display Manufacturing Order (job detail).  The “Always hide trees” overrides the setting for “On external edit hide trees”.

After you have made your changes, click OK to save the changes or click Cancel to cancel the changes.
