Operation Status
Previous Topic  Next Topic

The operation status is used to determine the current state of an operation as either no work performed (blank status), in a resource's queue, in process, or completed.  You may set up your own operation status terms for the standard operation status using Operation Statuses.

The standard statuses are:

  1. Blank status: No work has been performed on the operation
  2. Hold:  If an operation status is set to Hold, the job status is set to whatever has been specified in the Manufacturing Order Options.
  3. Queued for work: Typically used as a signal from the shop floor
  4. In Process: If a job is in process and the option to load in process work first is activated as a schedule option, in process work will be scheduled as the top priority.
  5. Completed: No more time will be scheduled for an operation once it has been completed, regardless of time or quantity that may be remaining.

When defining your own operation statuses, you assign your operation status to one of the above standard statuses.

Note that if an operation status is set to Hold, the job state will be set to whatever has been defined in Manufacturing Order Options.  If you later change the job state to something else, the operation status will remain set to "Hold" until the status is manually changed to another operation status.
