The Resource Description is an optional display field that shows the first 40 characters of the resource notes.  The resource notes are defined in Resources on the Resources tab and the notes can be a detailed explanation that may be several lines long.  The purpose of the Resource Description is to display a shorter version of the resource notes, and that is the first 40 characters of the resource notes.
