The DMS reports enable you to share common data such as the header/footer with your company logo, company email, company mailing address, etc. This relationship between the reports is called report inheritance. Report inheritance enables you to make a change in one report and have these changes applied to all other reports. There is one report that all other reports inherit from and it is called the base report.
Further, each DMS Report Type has its own template base report. All of these reports are inherited from the one DMS base report.
The DMS reports inheritance is as follows:
1.If the template base Report BaseReport.fr3 is changed, then all DMS reports are changed as well.
2.If the template Job Base Report JobBaseReport.fr3 is changed, then all DMS reports that were inherited from the Job Base Report will be changed as well.
3.If the template Dispatch Base Report DispatchBaseReport.fr3 is changed, then all DMS reports that were inherited from the Dispatch Base Report will be changed as well.
4.If the template Capacity Base Report CapacityBaseReport.fr3 is changed, then all DMS reports that were inherited from the Capacity Base Report will be changed as well.
5.If the template Job Updating Base Report JobUpdatingBaseReport.fr3 is changed, then all DMS reports that were inherited from the Job Updating Base Report will change as well.
To edit a template report, see Edit Template Report.
When you create a new report you have the option of not inheriting the corresponding template base report for the new report. In this case, the new report inherits directly from the Base Report.
