New Report enables you to create a new DMS Report based on one of the DMS Report Types. To create a new report, from Mfg Orders Job Grid click on the New Report button. The following window appears:
To create a new report, enter the following information:
1.Copy from template This prompt is selected (the default) to copy the corresponding template report to the newly created report. If not selected, only the base report is used for the new report.
2.Report Category Select the Report Category you want the new report to appear in.
3.Report name Enter the report name as you want it to appear in the drop-down menu of reports.
4.Report filename DMS will automatically create a report filename based on the name of the report you entered.
5.Report Type Enter the Report Type. The report type is either Jobs, Dispatch, Capacities, or Job Updating Transactions. Depending on the report type entered, the new report will be inherited (see DMS Report Inheritance) from the corresponding base report.
6.Default sort Enter the default sort using the drop-down menu. The type of sort available depends on the DMS Report Type selected.
7.Edit Password If you want to set up a password that is required in order to edit the new report, enter a password. Otherwise, leave this field blank.
8.Restrict access to You can restrict which user groups are allowed to view/print this report by using the drop-down menu and selecting the user groups who are allowed view/print access. If anyone can access this report, do not select any user groups.
9.Report notes You can optionally enter any notes about this report.
10.Click the Save button to save the report, or click the Cancel button to blank out all your entries and start adding a new report again.
11.If the Save button is selected, the DMS Report Designer appears and you can design the new report as required.
