An operation is a particular task or tasks to be performed in order to complete a job. Typically, each operation represents one task or step that is to be completed on one or more resources. The time it takes to perform an operation can be made up of setup time and/or runtime.
Operations may contain routing control language (RCL) commands such as Route Commands. RCL is a powerful language used to control how you want a job's operations to flow through the shop. Note that some RCL commands may conflict and should not be used together. If conflicting commands are used together, unpredictable schedule results may occur.
