Pool Selection Criteria is used to instruct the schedule on how to select resources from a Pool. If a given resource has been selected from a pool, you can tell the scheduler to select the same resource from the pool for the following sequential operations or for the entire job.
In the example below for Pool A Skill L1, whichever resource is selected, the same resource is to be used throughout the job for all operations using the Pool A Skill L1. For the operations using the Pool A Skill L1, a Pool Selection Criteria of Job is used. For Pool A Skill L2, whichever resource is selected, the same resource is to be used if the operations are sequential. In this case, we use a Pool Selection Criteria of Sequential:
After a schedule is run, for the Pool A Skill L1 the same resource Tara Trodden is used throughout the job. For the Pool A Skill L2, the same resource will be used if the operations occur sequentially. In the example, the resource Maria Frank was selected for the sequential operations:
In the next example, the Pools A Skill L1 and A Skill L2 are used throughout the job. We want to use the same resource throughout the job for A Skill L1 at operations 10, 40, and 90 only. Therefore, operations 10, 40, and 90 use a Pool Selection Criteria of Job. For A Skill L2, only the sequential operations 20 and 30 will use the same resource and use a Pool Selection Criteria of Sequential:
After a schedule run, the resulting selection is shown below:
In order for the Scheduler to match which operations have a Pool Selection Criteria, the Pool Selection Criteria command name and the Pool are used. That is, if a Pool Selection Criteria of Job is used on Pool A Skill L1, all operations that have a Pool Selection Criteria of Job and a Pool of A Skill L1 will use the same resource. If a Pool Selection Criteria of Job is used on a different Pool called CNC 3+ Axis, all operations that have a Pool Selection Criteria of Job and a Pool of CNC 3+ Axis will use the same resource.
