Customize Crystal Report

When you first install DMS, default Report Categories are setup along with base reports as examples. From the base reports, you can copy and create your own customized reports if you have Crystal Reports XI installed.


The best way to customize a report is to perform the following steps:


  1. Select an existing report that is close to what you want in a customized report by selecting the Report Category and the report.
  2. Copy the report to a new named report and Crystal Report filename using Copy Report.
  3. Select the new copied report by selecting the Report Category and the newly copied report.
  4. Click on the Customize Report button.  If Crystal Reports XI is installed, Crystal Reports will start with the selected report already loaded.  Customize the report using Crystal Reports, then save the report, and then exit Crystal Reports.  For more information on Crystal Reports, please refer to the Crystal Reports manual and Crystal Reports on line help.
  5. Test the report using View Report and make modifications as required.


DMS searches for Crystal Reports in the folder \Program Files\Business Objects\Crystal Reports 11\CRW32.EXE.
