After you log in to DMS (or if you bypass the database login) you are presented with a calendar showing the current system month and day.  The menu across the top of the calendar enables you to access the various parts of DMS:


  1. General Menu
  2. Manufacturing Menu


By using the mouse you can grab hold of the menus and drag them to a different location at the top of the calendar. 


The calendar has several features available for you to use.  You can ignore the features of the calendar if you wish and just use it as a reference as the extra calendar features do not have any impact on scheduling.  If you are interested in the calendar features available, this section explains what those features are.


First of all, there are several calendar & planner options that enable you to customize the appear of the calendar to your liking.  Secondly, you can add calendar activities to the calendar and have these "broadcast" to other users of DMS.  These activities can optionally be categorized for future purposes and can also be used to assign and track follow up action.


The following screen example show two of the various formats the calendar can take on.  The first example shows a simple calendar that is sized to a small format:
