Job Level Material Handling
Previous Topic  Next Topic

At the job level material can be handled by:

  1. A material available flag that if checked it means material is available for the job to start.  If unchecked, the job material is not available.
  2. Delaying the job a given number of days from the schedule start date if material is not available
  3. Delaying the job to a given date (material expected date) if material is not available

There are four prompts that can appear for the job level material handling.  The four prompts that can be selected are:

  1. Material Available.  This prompt must be selected in order for the job material information to appear in Manufacturing Order.
  2. Days to Delay Job.  This prompt is used to delay the job a given number of days out from the schedule start date if the jobs material is not available.  If set to 0, the job will not be delayed if material is not available.  The days to delay can be unique for each job.
  3. Expected Delivery.  This prompt is the latest date the material is expected to be available for the job to start.
  4. Date Received.  This prompt is the date the material was received.

The selection of the prompts and their defaults are set in the Tables menu under Material Options.  The example below sets up Manufacturing Orders to prompt for all four of the job material prompts per job.  New jobs being entered will have a “Default days to delay job if Material not available” of 5 days.  The default can be changed for each job.
