Operation Level Material Handling
Previous Topic  Next Topic

Operation level material handling is similar to the job level material handling in that it can be handled by:

  1. A material available flag that if checked it means material is available for the operation to start.  If unchecked, the operation material is not available.
  2. Delaying the operation a given number of days from the schedule start date if material is not available
  3. Delaying the operation to a given date (operation material expected date) if material is not available

There are four prompts that can appear for the operation level material handling.  The four prompts that can be selected are:

  1. Material Available.
  2. Material Days to Delay.  This prompt is used to delay the operation a given number of days out from the schedule start date if the operations material is not available.  If set to 0, the operation will not be delayed if material is not available.  The days to delay can be unique for each operation and the default is 0.
  3. Expected Delivery.  This prompt is the latest date the material is expected to be available for the operation to start.
  4. Date Received.  This prompt is the date the material was received for the operation.

The selection of the prompts is set in the Options menu under Material Options.  The prompts can then be selected for the Manufacturing Order Job Details' operation grid using the View | Operation Grid Columns. The example below sets up Manufacturing Order Job Details to enable selection for all four of the operation material prompts using the View | Operation Grid Columns:
