Schedule Options

Before you run a schedule you need to define the work week options as well as other schedule options.

To access the schedule options, click on the Options tab.  The following window will appear:

The options entered are the defaults to use for each schedule run.  When you perform a schedule run, you can change these default options for that one particular run.  the options are as follows:

  1. The Manufacturing week 1 date is the beginning of the manufacturing calendar.  You can either enter a date for the Manufacturing week 1 date, or you can choose to use the ISO-8601 work week (the first week of the year is the week that contains that year's first Thursday, that is a 4-day week) by selecting the User ISO-8601 week 1 checkbox.  The Options also display the current work week and the current resource work week based on the Manufacturing week 1 date. (See also Current Resource Work Week and Variable Work Week)
  2. Schedule by Critical Ratio
  3. Or command time fence in days
  4. Alternate route time fence in days
  5. Pool time fence in days
  6. Schedule horizon in days
  7. Minimum operation runtime in hours
  8. Schedule Pending Jobs
  9. Use Speed Memory Setting Select this setting to increase schedule runtime performance.  The Use Speed Memory Setting requires large arrays of information to be stored in memory during a schedule run.  If the number of resources and resource profiles are greater than then the memory available and/or the computer running the scheduler has limited memory, the schedule run may slow down or abort because of memory constraints.  If this problem occurs, run a schedule without the Use Speed Memory Setting selected.
  10. Retain Schedule Board Operation Order
  11. Load started operations first
  12. Print late jobs message
  13. Print backward loading will not fit message
  14. Print work profile not found message
  15. Trace schedule jobs in report
  16. Reschedule late planned day jobs
  17. Auto build capacity tables
  18. Freeze Schedule  Select this option if you want to freeze operations from the last schedule run.  This option can also be changed for each schedule run on the Schedule Run tab.
  19. Freeze schedule from last schedule start date x days  Enter the number of days out from the last schedule run that you want to freeze operations.  This option can also be changed for each schedule run on the Schedule Run tab.
  20. Freeze schedule suppress warnings If this option is selected, warning messages informing you that one or more frozen operations could not be scheduled on their previous start date or start shift will not be written to the status report.  If unchecked, warning messages will appear.  This option can also be changed for each schedule run on the Schedule Run tab.
  21. Load frozen ops before started/locked ops  If selected, frozen operations will be loaded before started and manually locked operations.  If unchecked, frozen operations are loaded after started/locked operations.  (See Freeze Schedule for more information on tis option.)
  22. The default for Profile for late jobs if priority <= if a Try Profile Schedule is selected
  23. First Try Profile
  24. Second Try Profile
  25. To Apply Material Constraints, please see Scheduling Material Constraints
  26. Apply Security Certificates will tell the scheduler to schedule operations requiring security certificates with approved resources.  There are two options when applying security certificates to a schedule run and these are:
    1. If no matching Security Certificate, print error and do not schedule operation  This selection will NOT schedule an operation if a resource with a security certificate cannot be found.
    2. If no matching Security Certificate, print warning and schedule operation  This selection will still schedule an operation even if a resource with a security certificate cannot be found.
  27. Schedule options notes  The notes fields can be used to keep information on the options for your own uses.  Notes do not have any affect on a schedule run.

Click Save to save the options.  Click Cancel to ignore the entered options.
