The Link by Jobs Operations enables you to:
1.Link selected operations within jobs together . The jobs’ routings may be different.
2.Link operations with a Book Time command together. The jobs’ Book Time range of operations may be different.
Two or more jobs can be added to a Linked Group.
Rules for a Linked Group for jobs:
1.One job in the Linked Group is the Parent and the other linked jobs are the Children.
2.All the jobs in the group are scheduled when the Parent job is scheduled.
3.The Parent job’s priority and due date set the overall priority for the Linked Group.
4.If the Parent job is deleted, the links between all the jobs are also deleted. The Children jobs are not deleted and are treated as regular jobs.
5.Linked operations must have the same Resource or the same Pool.
6.Whatever Resource is selected from the Pool during the schedule process is applied to all linked operations.
7.A job can only be the member of one Linked Group.
8.Currently, all Linked Groups are scheduled forward loaded only.
9.A Parent job and Children jobs can be part of an Assembly. The Assembly’s priority and due date set the priority for the Parent job. The user needs to ensure that the Assembly with the Parent job has an overall higher priority and due date than Assemblies that have Children jobs.
10.If a linked operation is set to in process, then all other corresponding linked operations are set to in process during the schedule run.
11.If a Book Time operation is used:
1.The Book Time command must be for a range of operations and not for the entire job.
2.The Book Time command must appear in the job’s routing after the last operation given in the range of operations. For example, if a Book Time has a range of operations 25 to 50, then the Book Time command must appear immediately following operation 50 in the job’s routing.
3.The Book Time range of operations for the Parent job and each Child job do not need to match. For example, the Parent job may have an operation range from 25 to 50 while a Child job my have a range from 10 to 20, etc.
4.If a Book Time is set in process, then all operations in all the Link Group of jobs that fall within the Book Time ranges will be scheduled during the scheduled loading of started operations (if the option to load started operations first is selected).
