Sort by Group

Sort By group enables you to specify up to three columns for sort the Job Grid.  For example, you can sort by Delivery Status, Part Number and Due Date or any combination of job fields.  To sort by group, select the Selections tab and then press the Sort by Group button.  The following windows appears:




To sort by one or more fields:


  1. Enter the first column to sort by. You can enter text to the column or use the drop down menu.
  2. The sort defaults to be sorted in ascending order (ie. A to Z). To sort in descending order click on the button to toggle it to be to let you know the field will now be sorted in descending order.
  3. Repeat the first two steps until you have entered the columns you wish to sort by and their sort order.
  4. Click the sort button to sort the jobs, Cancel to abort the sort or Close to exit.
  5. After clicking on the sort button, the Sort by Group window remains visible on the screen so that you can change/adjust your group sort.  Cancel and Close will close the Sort by Group window.


Note that to sort by a user field, the user field must be displayed in the grid (use View| Job Grid Columns to select the columns to display in the grid).


To clear the sort by fields, click on the Clear Sort button.  The sort by fields are cleared right away.
