Resource Gantt Chart

The Resource Gantt Chart displays the dispatch list for each resource from the current schedule start date out a given number of days.  The job/operation highlighted in the resource Gantt is automatically displayed on the job panel at the top left and in the operation grid below the job panel.  The operation highlighted in the Operation Grid has its resource capacity displayed at the top right.


When you first enter into the Resource Gantt, the resource selections window is displayed asking you the resources you want to graph.  You can also select the resource to graph by using either File | Resource Selections or View | Resource Selections. 




After selecting the resources you want to graph, press OK to load the Gantt chart.




The following is an example of the Resource Gantt Chart.  The Job Information, Resource Capacity Graph, and the operations grid can be resized by using the mouse on the splitter bars between each section.  On the Gantt chart, green bars show in process operations and blue bars show scheduled operations:



You can resize the columns in the grids by positioning the mouse over the bar between the columns in the heading and drag the column to the desired with. 


The following right click pop up menus are available:


  1. On the Job panel or Operation gird:
    1. Edit Job to edit the current job
    2. Edit Job/Operation to edit the current job's operation
    3. Update Job to enter Job Status Updating for the selected job
    4. Quick Job Updating to update a job using Quick Job Updating, use the right mouse button and click on a job or operation.


  1. On the Resource Gantt:
    1. Edit Job to edit the current job
    2. Edit Job/Operation to edit the current jobs operations
    3. Update Job to enter Job Status Updating for the selected job
    4. Quick Job Updating to update a job using Quick Job Updating, use the right mouse button and click on a job or operation.
    5. Edit Resource to edit the current resource using Resources.
    6. Capacity Changes to enter Calendar/Capacity Changes.


  1. On the Capacity Graph:
    1. Edit Resource to edit the current resource using Resources.
    2. Capacity Changes to enter Calendar/Capacity Changes.


Note that clicking on a Capacity Graph bar will display the Dispatch Display for that selected bar.

The following commands are available:


  1. Print Report Selecting File | Print or clicking on the print icon   to print a Crystal Report as setup by Module Report Settings.
  2. Print Graph  Selecting File | Print or clicking on the print graph icon to print the current Gantt chart. 
  3. Overlay Bars  If View | Overlay bars is selected, the bars shown on the graph are overlayed on top of each other.  This option can be toggled on or off.
  4. Resource Gantt Display Options Select View | Gantt Display Options to select display options for the Gantt Chart. 
  1. Show Labels  If View | Show Labels is selected, the bars on the graph will be shown with labels displaying the numerical total of each bar.   This option can be toggled on or off.
  1. Percent Load  If View | Percent Load is selected, the the graph bars will display the percentage load.    This option can be toggled on or off.
  2. Theme  The View | Theme enables you to change the appearance of the graph.  Various themes and colors can be selected.
  3. Refresh  View | Refresh reloads the graph with fresh data.
  4. Sort The following sort settings are available for sorting the operations under each resource:
    1. Sort by operation start date.
    2. Sort by start date and previous operation status
    3. Sort by previous operation status and start date
    4. Sort by operation start date, status, and previous operation status.
  5. Time Scale The Time Scale for the capacity graph can be one of the following:
    1. Shifts
    2. Days
    3. Weeks
    4. Months
    5. Quarters
  6. Type of Work (Capacity)  The type of work appears above the capacity graph for the capacity bars (orange bars) and can be changed by selecting a new type of work.
  7. Type of Work (Ribbon)  A ribbon can be added as a third parameter to the capacity graph displaying a different type of work.  The ribbon enables you to compare the capacity type of work, the current load, and a ribbon type of work all in one graph.  The Type of Work Ribbon prompt appears above the capacity graph.
  8. Data points  The data points appears above the capacity graph and are the number of shifts, days, weeks, months or quarters you want to appear on the graph.


Note when changing to or from Shifts, selecting different sort orders, or selecting and entering a new number of dispatch days out, the Gantt chart must recalculate and load the data.
